10-21 Eva Mendes Reveals the ‘Extreme’ Parenting Rule She Enforces with Ryan Gosling While Raising Daughters: “NO SOCIAL MEDIA”

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have remained pretty tight-lipped about their personal lives over the course of their romance that dates back to 2011.

But in a new interview with The Times the actress and mother of two opens up about the couple’s two daughters, their parenting style, and one of the household rules that wouldn’t go over well with many kids.

It turns out the celebrity duo doesn’t allow their children, who are home-schooled, to use smartphones or social media at their home.

Putting my kid on the internet and being like, “Oh, search something,” that to me is equivalent to telling her, “Oh, just go down the street in the middle of the night. You’ll be fine,”‘ Mendes, 50, revealed.

‘I know that sounds extreme, but that’s what I feel,’ the actress added.

🔴WARNING. Reality. Buckle up. Addiction. Abuse. Mental Health. Exploitation. Trauma.

We have an epidemic going on in the United States. Let’s once and for all discuss these critical and crucial issues openly and honestly affecting every town, city and rural area in America. No one is exempt. What’s needed? Recovery. Resources. Take actions. #communitycreateschange Mike Anthony Jones joins the Warriors to explain why he created the Recovery Channel Streaming Network. Mike has a very personal reason – he lost his beautiful son to illicit fentanyl. We are so thankful to Mike for being the voice for so many parents, family members and the public, that are vulnerable and suffering traumas. Mike, along with you, wants to empower the next generation.

The Recovery Channel is a 24/7 365 platform available now on Roku, full of original content and just getting started. The goal of TRC is raising awareness, education, health and wellness, expert guests, resources, healing, take actions, community forums and so much more. Approximately 25 million people in America suffer from substance use disorder (SUD), and 22 million are in recovery. This issue also impacts around 30 million family members. Altogether, nearly 80 million Americans have been affected by SUD. Alarmingly, addiction rates are rising among youth as young as 12, with those under 14 experiencing the fastest-growing death rate from fentanyl. This stark reality highlights the urgent need for widespread awareness. The TRC audience will include those directly affected, medical professionals, law enforcement, and emergency services personnel who frequently encounter SUD cases.

10-14 Better-Prepared Emergency Departments Could Save Kids’ Lives Cost-Effectively, Stanford Medicine-Led Study Finds

About 80% of emergency departments aren’t fully prepared to care for kids. Upgrading them would be a highly cost-effective way to save lives, a study found.

Most U.S. hospital emergency departments — lacking staffing, training and equipment — are not fully prepared to care for children. Maximizing their readiness to handle pediatric emergencies would be a cost-effective way to save children’s lives, according to a new Stanford Medicine-led study.

The study, which published Oct. 7 in Health Affairs, is based on data from hundreds of hospitals in 11 states. About 80% of emergency departments are not highly prepared to treat children, they found. The research team studied whether it would be cost-effective to upgrade these less-prepared emergency departments to make them more ready to treat babies, children and teens.

10-13 US Venezuelan Tren de Aragua Gang Recruiting Kids from Texas Middle Schools

A confirmed Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang member has been arrested for allegedly recruiting students from two Houston middle schools to become new gang members.

Jorgenys Robertson Cova, an illegal alien from Venezuela, entered the United States two years ago, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The 32-year-old was arrested Monday after a string of alleged thefts.

Cova is also alleged to have recruited middle school students from Jane Long Academy and Las Americas, which are part of Houston Independent School District.

One resident of the Bellaire community in Houston, where both schools are located, told FOX 26 Houston “a lot of things have happened that are on the news. So, if it’s happening elsewhere, it might also be happening in our neighborhoods as well, and we’re unaware of it.”
