11-09 Glendale, AZ Girl’s Quick Thinking Foils Man’s Plan to Lure Her, Police Say. Share This Information With Your Kids.

The Glendale Police Department is praising a 14-year-old girl’s fast thinking when a man in Glendale tried to lure her, officers said on Wednesday.

Police said she was walking home from school when 37-year-old Isaiah Navarro approached her in a red car and tried to talk to her on 57th Avenue just north of Olive Avenue on Oct. 16.

She knew better than to talk to strangers or get in their cars.

11-08 Arizonans Approve Life in Prison for Sex Trafficking a Minor. We Need This Law Nationwide.

Arizona Proposition 313 has passed. This is bad news, no matter how much the ballot measure’s backers portrayed it as a simple measure to indicate that “children are not for sale.”

Obviously, selling children is already banned, federally and in Arizona. And the specific crime that Prop 313 is concerned with—sex trafficking of minors—is already illegal at the state and federal level, with heavy prison sentences for those who disobey.

Proposition 313, which institutes a mandatory life sentence for this crime, passed with more than 60 percent of the vote, per the Associated Press. But this measure will mean more injustice in Arizona, not less. It could even mean more injustice for victims of sex trafficking.

11-07 French Families Sue Tiktok Over Children’s Exposure to Harmful Content

After the suicides of two French 15-year-olds, families are suing TikTok in the first group lawsuit against the tech giant in Europe.

Attorney Laure Boutron-Marmion, representing seven families, told broadcaster franceinfo on Nov. 4 that the families allege TikTok’s algorithm recommended children videos promoting suicide, self harm, and eating disorders.

“The parents want TikTok’s legal liability to be recognized in court,” Boutron-Marmion said. “This is a commercial company offering a product to consumers who are, in addition, minors. They must, therefore, answer for the product’s shortcomings.”

11-01 Have You Seen This Missing Maine 14-Year-Old Stephanie Damron? Call 911 Immediately.

A Maine teenager has been missing for over a month now after she was last seen leaving home and walking into the woods, according to police.

Stefanie Damron, 14, was reported missing by her family on Sept. 24, in the town of New Sweden, Maine. She was last seen the previous day, “walking out of her house and into the woods located on the West Road in New Sweden,” according to several official statements from the Maine State Police Department.

In a recent statement released on social media and local station WAGM-TV, her parents said that “Stefanie got into an argument with her sister while we were gone and walked off.”

“We live a half mile back in the woods and our kids are very comfortable in their surroundings so there was nothing to raise flags the first few hours,” they added, concluding the note by writing, “We just want our baby home.”

Maine State Police say that all available resources have been utilized in order to find Stefanie, including collaborations with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the FBI.

However, in an update on Oct. 23, police said that despite their “extensive” efforts, Stefanie remained missing.

PEOPLE reached out to the Maine Police Department for comment but did not receive an immediate response.

New Sweden is located in Aroostook County about 200 miles from the Canadian border. It has a population of just over 500.

According to police, Stephanie, who was 13 at the time of her disappearance, is 5 ft. tall, weighs 130 lbs. and has green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long sleeve blue shirt, and black Harley Davidson hiking boots.

Maine police ask that anyone with information about Stefanie’s whereabouts contact the Maine State Police at 1-800-924-2261 or 207-532-5400 and always 911.
