📢What good is technology if parents are forced to compete with algorithms designed to capture attention rather than protect well-being? The founders spoke often of posterity and of the generations yet to come.
They understood that freedom is not self-sustaining. It must be protected, nurtured and passed forward. Today that responsibility includes protecting children from exploitation, trafficking, predatory technologies, harmful algorithms, sextortion, cyberbullying, eating disorders, deepfakes and online harms that previous generations could never have imagined, including AI. This Independence Day, as families gather for fireworks, cookouts and celebrations, perhaps the most patriotic act of all is investing in the next generation. It starts with talking to our children, setting healthy boundaries, creating memories and ensuring that technology serves families rather than replacing them.
Because protecting children is not merely policy.
📢It is stewardship.
📢It is citizenship.
📢It is patriotism.
And perhaps the truest measure of a free society is not how it treats the powerful, but how it protects the young, the vulnerable and the generations who will someday inherit the nation we leave behind.
