Protect our Children

Your Attention Please is a new 2026 documentary about the attention economy and the effect social media is having on children, families, mental health and human relationships. It argues that platforms are deliberately engineered to keep people scrolling and engaged, then follows parents, young reformers, whistleblowers and researchers who are pushing back.

A central figure is Kristin Bride, whose 16-year-old son Carson died by suicide in 2020 after cyberbullying. Her story becomes part of the film’s larger examination of online harms and the political fight over legislation including the Kids Online Safety Act. The documentary also features Frances Haugen, former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Tristan Harris, Sherry Turkle and Cal Newport.

Importantly, it is not simply an anti-technology film. It looks at proposed solutions: phone-free schools, anti-cyberbullying technology, the Offline Club movement and efforts to redesign technology around human wellbeing rather than maximum engagement. The basic question is: Can we take back control of our attention before the platforms control even more of our lives?

It premiered at SXSW on March 12, 2026 and became broadly available on October 6, 2026. It runs about 96 minutes and is directed by Sara Robin.
