Protect our Children

The father of a Tennessee teenager who has been missing for over 2 years says he has lost faith in the investigation into his son’s disappearance and is now taking his fight to federal court.

Sebastian Rogers, who has autism, severe ADHD and a rare chromosomal condition that required daily support, disappeared from his mother’s Hendersonville home on February 26, 2024, at age 15. Sebastian’s smile quickly captured the hearts of the public and content-creators alike, prompting boots-on-the-ground investigations and more.

Despite one of the largest missing child searches in Tennessee history, investigators have still made no arrests, identified no suspects and publicly announced no major breaks in the case. Law Enforcement says the investigation remains active and ongoing, with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and FBI continuing to review credible tips. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Sebastian’s whereabouts or to those responsible for his disappearance.

In an exclusive sit-down with local news outlet WSMV4, Seth Rogers spoke publicly about the emotional toll of not knowing what happened to Sebastian and the frustration that led him to file a federal lawsuit against the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. The lawsuit alleges DCS failed to protect Sebastian before his disappearance, citing a specific prior incident, while separately claiming the sheriff’s office failed to properly investigate the case after he went missing. DCS told WSMV4 Investigates “As a matter of practice, the Department generally does not comment on pending litigation. Additionally, DCS is unable to comment on specific cases due to state and federal confidentiality laws. Our priority remains, and will always remain, the safety and well-being of children in Tennessee.”
