Protect our Children

Age verification sounds like a simple fix, but it is not the answer to protecting children online. Forcing users to upload IDs or biometric data to access major platforms risks creating massive databases of sensitive information. That raises real concerns about privacy, data breaches and exposing children to new forms of harm.
At Lynn’s Warriors, we believe safety cannot come at the cost of surveillance. Age verification is also easy to bypass. Determined bad actors and even tech savvy minors can work around these systems using VPNs, fake credentials or shared accounts. That means the very people these laws aim to stop often slip through, while law abiding families shoulder the burden. More importantly, age verification does nothing to fix the core problem. Harmful content, predatory behavior and algorithm driven exposure still exist on these platforms. Verifying age does not remove danger. It simply labels the user.
Real protection requires real accountability. We need stronger platform design standards that prioritize child safety from the start. That includes limiting direct messaging between minors and unknown adults, ending algorithmic amplification of harmful content and enforcing strict moderation where children are present. Transparency must be mandatory so parents understand how content reaches their children. We also need tools that empower families, not replace them. Clear parental controls, digital literacy education and default safety settings for minors should be the baseline, not optional features buried in menus. Lawmakers have a role to play as well. Policies should focus on holding companies accountable when harm occurs, not shifting responsibility onto children and parents alone.
Protecting kids online is not about checking a box. It is about changing the system that allowed the danger in the first place. Our children deserve more than a login screen. They deserve a safer digital world.  #BeAWarrior
