On February 14, Emily’s remains were found in a remote area near Globe close to US Highway 60. A leaked memo revealed that her head and torso were found in trash bags. Since then, several vigils have been held, a $75,000 reward has been offered and advocates are pushing for more attention to be given to missing Indigenous peoples’ cases. Now, officials from multiple agencies are working together to create a task force dedicated to the case. The task force consists of GCSO, the San Carlos Apache Police Department, the Mesa Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The task force does not yet have a name. The GCSO also established an online tip line for members of the public who have information regarding the case. When people click on the link, the website will ask for a zip code when you create your account, and any agencies that subscribe to the online portal within a 50-mile radius of the zip code you entered will appear in a dropdown menu. The agency to select for the Emily Pike case is the San Carlos Apache Police Department. You can also download the Tips411 app on the App Store or Google Play.
